The fallen officer has been identified as Constable Keagile Rampa, a 32-year-old from the Mooinooi police station. According to Police Spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh, the accident occurred on the N4 route near Majakaneng village around 2:30 AM. Rampa was not only a dedicated officer but also a cherished member of her community, whose untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her.

“At the time of the accident, two officers were driving a state Toyota Hilux vehicle, returning to Mooinooi after addressing an alleged hijacking complaint,” Colonel Myburgh explained. “Four victims had been abandoned by the roadside in the Bapong area, roughly 4 kilometers from the accident site. Her fellow constable, who was part of her crew, sustained minor injuries and was later discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment.”
“The civilians involved in the incident were promptly transported to local hospitals for further care. While this tragedy has left a mark on everyone involved, it’s a testament to the resilience and dedication of our officers that they continue to serve even in the face of such adversity,” she added.
Paramedics worked tirelessly to ensure the hijacking victims received the medical attention they needed. Their efforts reflect the commitment of emergency responders to prioritize human life in the most challenging circumstances.
